Riddlesworth's comfortable dormitories provide a happy and homely atmosphere.  A real sense of community is created - large enough to be stimulating, yet giving the security that comes from everyone knowing each other.

Our boarders learn to live and share with others, but also form close friendships.

Children can board from seven years of age.  Some children board for just one night a week whilst others are weekly or full-time.  This suits both children and parents and is an effective way to introduce young people to boarding school life.

At all times the boarders are supervised and cared for by the resident Matrons.  Mr and Mrs Cochrane and family also live in the Hall and are very much an integral part of the boarding house and fully involved in all aspects of the children's pastoral care.  Thus creating a family atmosphere at Riddlesworth.

A wide range of free time activities during evenings and weekends makes a valuable addition to the academic and creative work of the classroom.  On Saturdays and Sundays we organise a variety of stimulating activities which cover visits to nearby towns and cities, including Cambridge, London and other places of cultural interest.  "In-house" events include barbecues, video nights, games evenings, art, music and drama, whilst horse riding and mountain-biking are popular outdoor activities.

Pets Corner is now being redeveloped and will allow boarders to bring their own small animals to school, a vital link with home being maintained.  Looking after their assorted rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and hamsters gives the girls a sense of responsibility as well as being a good refuge in those odd moments when people won't do!
