Archive News - Norfolk County Music Festival

On March 2nd, 3rd and 4th Years 3-8 took part in a number of different classes at the Norfolk County Music Festival.

On Monday, 2nd several individuals took part in the solo acting and poetry reading classes.  Everyone was very successful but special congratulations are due to Alexa, Isabella and Phoebe who were awarded Highly Commended certificates in the solo acting class.

On Tuesday, 3rd March Year 3 to 7 took part in the Choral Speaking classes and gained results ranging from Promising to Highly Commended plus.  Year 7 did especially well to gain this certificate which was the highest in the class.  The adjudicator remarked on their excellent presentation and skill.  Year 4 were also praised for working so well as a team.

The Choir classes took place on Wednesday, 4th March.  It was quite daunting singing in St Andrew's Hall especially as there were some huge choirs taking part.  However we all rose magnificantly to the occasion.  The Junior Choir, trained and conducted by Mrs Bell, was awarded a very well deserved Commended certificate.  Their ability to project words was especially praised and Morwenna and Millie did a great job of singing the descant part, which was also singled out for praise.

The Senior and Chamber Choirs sang to the very best of their ability and made us all extremely proud.  They were both awarded Highly Commended plus certificates and the adjudicator commented on the "lovely golden sound" and "excellently projected quiet singing".  He also mentioned the sparkly rhythm and atmospheric singing of the Chamber Choir and said that their performance of Beauty and The Beast was the best of all he had heard.  We are very grateful to Mr Ottevanger for his wonderful accompaniments which really enhanced all our performances.

Mr Cochrane and all staff are delighted that the children have achieved so much and want to congratulate them on the success of their performances.
